Blessed.

We have been, to have this little guy in our lives. And last weekend we got to have his own little baby blessing at my parents' house, surrounded by family (and the Nuckols, who are adopted family).

Charlie's circle: Jim Nuckols, Grandpa Curt, Charlie, Steve, Grandpa Kris, and Uncle Kevin.

Steve and his brother Kevin, both our dads, and our dear friend Jim gave Charlie his name and blessing in my parents' family room on April 3rd. It just warmed my little mommy heart to hear the things he was blessed with. (And, for the record, he was wearing a shirt and tie during the blessing, but we freed him afterward--what man really wants to hang around in a tie at a party?)

It was a beautiful afternoon, and we all hung around and lunched, enjoying the sunshine and each others' company. We were so relaxed that about half the group (including Charlie) took naps at some point in the day. And the little girls had a fun time chalking my mom's cement turtle and dachshund (below) and wandering around scavenging food from their many admirers (or unguarded plates). Sunshine and family; perfection.
