Things They Say: Blinking Lights

Blinking Lights

There's a Fountains of Wayne song called "Little Red Light" on my iPad, and every once in a while it makes it into the rotation when we're driving around. It talks about a guy waiting for someone to leave him a message (to make the red light blink on his old school answering machine). Charlie, who has plenty of experience with blinking lights on toys, alarm clocks, and etc., had some thoughts to help him out:

Charlie (seriously): It needs batteries so the light can stop blinking.
Me: Well, its not real. Its just a song.
C: But the people say its blinking.
Me: Yeah, but--
C: This is the Broken Song.

Tattling

On our recent road trip back from Florida, Juliette was having a hard time falling asleep in her carseat. Slightly ticked, she was letting us all know of her displeasure by crying.

Charlie (tattling from the back seat): Da-ad! Squish is not shushing her fa-ace!

Arms

This morning Charlie got chewed out by his big sister for being a little rough with one of Juliette's arms. Gracie explained that pulling Squish's arm could hurt her.

Charlie (unconcerned): Well... I can't hurt my arm, because arms don't fall off.
