Surprise!

Want to know the best way to be SURE you surprise someone at their birthday party? Throw it a month early. :)

Steve walked in the door in early August to find a surprise party awaiting him. Because it was SO early (his birthday was this Sunday) he was pretty confused (it was a "Surprise Meredith!" situation for you Office fans) and obviously quite surprised.

We had a small party with some friends from school and church with amazing steak burritos. One of Steve's friends from school offered to do the grilling for me since I am a BBQ novice, and everybody brought toppings and sides. They were mad good. I could eat those every day.

Gracie attached to Steve's friend David and stuck by him the whole night. Good thing he hadn't brought a date--there would have been a showdown for sure.

Everyone socialized, ate cupcakes, snuggled on Charlie, and played Kinect Sports. Here are Steve and David running the hurdles....
