Six Months!

Somehow my boy is 6 months old already! I have a feeling I will be saying the same thing when he is six years old. I feel like the world is set on fast forward since these little kiddos have been born. Gracie made time go fast, and Charlie is making it go even faster.

We went in to the doctor yesterday and Charlie got his shots (which is always just the saddest thing... I hate that the nurse makes you hold their little hands down!) and got assessed. He is doing great but is a long skinny guy (like his dad!) so he has to go in for a weight check in six weeks to make sure he is gaining okay. We also get to start getting him into solids more often to build up his calorie intake. He weighs half an ounce less than Grace did at 6 months, but he is almost 3 inches longer!

At six months Charlie:

• Has a tooth! And another one just barely breaking through--both are lower central. Poor little dude has not been enjoying the teething experience. It is the saddest thing. He just wants to be held and loved on, and prefers to be on my hip chewing on my shirt or his fist. And his doctor said he has one coming in on the top, soon, too!
  
  
• Is a rolling machine. We got him up for some late-night playtime the other evening because Steve hadn't seen him all day. We put him on our bed with us (to watch Top Chef, which he loved) and we had to keep reorienting him because he would roll over to the laptop and play with the buttons. He can also pivot on his belly to change directions.
  
  
• Has discovered the joy of bouncing. We borrowed an Exersaucer from the Jacksons and Charlie thinks it is hilarious to jump up and down in it repeatedly.
  
  
• Is on an awesome 4-hour eating schedule. He nurses at 7, 11, 3, and 6-7ish, with cereal at dinnertime with Grace (around 5). We're going to start giving him cereal at breakfast, too, and I'm gearing up to start making his baby food so he can sample some real flavors. :)
  
  
• Is still a good sleeper. Which we love. His naps are still in flux--some days 2, other days 3--because teething wears him out. He tends to wake up around 6 or 6:30 but usually doesn't demand to be fed until 7, which is perfect for his non-morning-person mommy.
