In Which Gracie Goes to a Valentine's Party ♥

Because we are lucky ducks, we got to spend the morning at a little Valentine's shindig thrown by Suzi (mama of Abby, Gracie's BFF). We told Gracie about it last night, and she couldn't wait to get out the door this morning to start the festivities.

She started out the party by getting as many of Abby's necklaces on as possible, and then telling me emphatically, "I'm beauuutiful!!!" Which she definitely was. After that the kiddos all decorated bags with hearts and pretty papers and the moms took turns depositing Valentines therein because, lets face it, we filled out (and in some cases made) the cards ourselves, and our babies can't read.

After everyone oooohed and ahhhhed over their bag of goodies, it was time to decorate sugar cookies! We decked them out with pink or white frosting...

And then lots of little hands bedazzled them with a myriad different types of sprinkles! Don't they look yummy?

Everyone had a different cookie-eating technique. Some, like Abby, just dove in and took some nice big bites. Sadie sampled her cookie and then opted instead to dip her frosted (plastic) knife in sprinkles, lick it off, and repeat. Gracie chose to add another handful of sprinkles after each and every bite. Everyone was very happy with the ready availability of sugar.

One girl got a bib, so then they all wanted bibs. Gracie included. She hasn't worn a bib at home for at least a year, but it was a party fashion statement.

Charlie attended the party, too, though he spent most of the time lounging in his car seat. He started out solo...

But was soon joined by the lovely Katelyn, who proved to be excellent and talkative company. I'm sure that had they been able to see each other, they would have been glad of the companionship. Here is a picture of them looking surprised. (Enjoy.)

After the sugar rush began, everyone headed outside to burn it off. It was the first day in ages that it was warm enough to play comfortably outside in just one layer, and the kids were blissed out!

Happy Valentine's Day!
